Is it duck season or rabbit season?

Well, that explains it!

Saturday 1977

Sitting on the couch

Early Saturday morning rise

Bowlful of Honeycomb in my hands

Little brother at my side.

Watching Scooby-Doo and George Jetson

I loved Land of the Lost, too

Sleestak always scared me

Run Holly, don’t let them get you!

Hear the whir of the vacuum

MOM, we’re trying to watch TV

Chores must be done today

Now pick up those feet!

Napping a little during Looney Tunes

I really never did know

Was it rabbit or duck season

I’ll find out later, mom says it’s time to go.

Pile up in the car, mom and me

Little brother quit hanging on that door

You’ll get nothing if you’re not good

When we get to the grocery store!

Shopping cart with me on the front

Let’s see, I want Pop-Tarts, Cheetos, and a magazine

Sneak ‘em in when mom’s not looking

Open it all up on the backseat.

Remember those happy carefree mornings

When times get tough in the fray

Speed Buggy would agree with me

That every day should be Saturday!

Thundarr the Barbarian and Space Ghost! And I have a stack of Loony Tune dvd's that I try to make my grands watch. Great Hub. I wish every day was a Saturday in '70, '71, '72' also!

Mark, I never watched those boy cartoons! That was the good thing about me being older than my brother...control over the channels!

Thanks for reading!

The best memories are the ones with family when everything was good.

Makes me want to be a kid again, although sometimes it's like I never grew up. Thanks for the ride ,Lady.

As usual I enjoyed your hub; I'm patiently waiting for the day when you write one I don't like. :)

Voted up and thanks for the memories. Yeah Saturday mornings were great except for me. Even living in N.Y.C. I went to learn Latvian and about Latvia etc. Saturday mornings. When I got home the cartoons were over. But I got my dose of those great Saturday cartoons when I got in my 20s and went to university. Saturday morning I was glued to the TV to catch up on what I'd missed.

Michael, I'm never growing up! In 20 years I'll still be wearing my Converse and listening to the Ramones!

Thanks for the comment!

Billy, I hope the day you read something by me that you don't like, you respond with "Eh". Just kidding! Let me know because that's how we learn!

Thanks for the comment!

Gypsy, at least you were doing something important with your time, like learning! I was a couch-potato long before it was even cool! Thanks for commenting!

LABrashear, it's so refreshing to see an adult admit to still loving cartoons! There's so many things people think you can't do after you grow up!

Thanks so much for the vote!

You sound like you just wanna sit and have fun every day..

Refreshing.. but sorry to say, I was that kid who couldn't wait for the show to be over so we could go out and play...

Nice and fulfilled hub
